Guilty Pleasures
A year back I asked
one of my Stoner friend.
Why don’t you stop taking Cannabis?
To which he replied “Bro, weed makes me happy, just like writing makes you, the
day you drop writing I will stop weed”
I was baffled with
his response and could not reply to him that very moment because to him
consumption of cannabis was not a question of health but a requirement to his
moral belief and it’s difficult to counter someone else’s belief.
But a year later and enough knowledge, I have a befitting reply
to him. And I’m going to answer him through this article.
If you google Guilty Pleasure the answer you get is,
‘For certain types of activities, when you feel guilty, you may actually
get more pleasure'

But is this enough for a phenomenon which has globally affected people?
NO, this is just a superficial definition which is hiding horns of the real devil, making it look
like an innocent term. But we at Wonder Wisdom are trying to give you
aphoristic view on this concept and for that we will start with these examples
A sad Foodie eats one tub full of ice-cream for pleasure but at the same time ignore at-least 1000 calories entering his body which are going to stay in for a period longer than their pleasure time.
A teenager spends hours on Instagram trying to search validation with
likes on their photos which he should actually spend on learning something new
in their growth years.
A smoker thinks his nicotine takes away some stress and in that greed ignores the
hideous image of cancerous growth on the packet.
Consumption of cannabis will make you happy but in long run science says it will slow
down your body cell functions and makes you incapable to do anything which
requires concentration and energy.
“With these examples we can come down to a conclusion. Any activity that makes you happy for a short span of time but in
long run imprints a negative effect on your body and health are collectively known
as guilty pleasures”
This is our definition for you.
Anyone who is indulged in
any activity of guilty pleasure knows this and also they have some knowledge about negative effects of those acts on their body. But they still continue to do it.
Why?
The answer is - In
search of Short Term HAPPINESS.
The actual reason
behind bad habits are not addiction but their philosophy and attitude of an addicted.
I’ve never met a
smoker who wants to quit but is not being able to, and neither have I met a
foodie who is perpetually unhappy of their food habits but they still continue
to do it and their excuse is just like my stoner friend - it makes them happy.
To understand
further more we will have to see what actually is the state of being happy
The science of a HAPPY mind.
For pleasure we
have four hormones in our body those are called as happy hormones or D.O.S.E
Dopamine - Motivating hormone
Oxytocin - Social hug hormone (this controls your social activities)
Serotonin - Leadership hormone (this controls who you are as a person)
Endorphins - Natural pain killers (secretion of this takes away your pain and sorrow)
Collective Secretion of
these four hormones time to time make you happy.
Remember when
you were kid and unaware of the terms like weed, alcohol, caffeine and likes (on social media) but were still happy, Why?. It was because all four of these hormones
would secrete in your body harmoniously all the time in our day to day activities. Outdoor games, moral stories from our grandmother, appreciation from our parents even when we scored less marks were few reasons of their secretion.
Science says even
if we don’t give kid a toy they would still enjoy every day because their
attitude towards life is to grow and learn. They do it by exploring anything and
everything, it does not matter to them whether it is a toy or just the space under our beds.
But as we grow
up our attitude towards life changes and we think we have seen enough world and
the world we saw could not make us happy. The world of education system supressing our creative minds,
corrupt society, work culture meant for brainless animals, few friend who we
call snakes on social media these days, all these external factors don’t let
you secrete these hormones.
And then you go
out searching for these with external and unhealthy stimulus which are cannabis,
nicotine, validation on social media and anything which is unhealthy for
your body and mind in long run.
We often forget that when we see something with our eyes the image formed is not outside this body but actually on the retina which is inside our body

We always think problems
are outside but we often forget to introspect and realise that problems are
always inside us and so are the solutions. We are just not able to find them because we have lost control on our body and mind, its high time that we regain it.
To find these solutions we need to have absolute control on our consciousness and awareness(95% of our brain functions on awareness and consciousness and rest 5% on cognitive memory). These intoxicants takes away our ability to control our body, hence only multiplying our problems.
How to secrete these hormones in Real time for FREE.
Dopamine - Do anything which motivates you, like writing
does to me.
Oxytocin - Go
back to childhood friend who loved you for no reason.
Serotonin - Be the person you want everyone around you
to be.
Endorphin - Exercise, yoga and meditation will help you here.
I know you have
a question, how can something as easy as these help in overcoming addictions which you have been trying to quit for so long?
The answer lies in two words
Belief-We don’t believe
in anything not even in ourselves and start having trust issues within.
Can I quit it? The question we keep asking ourselves.
Of course you can, it’s your body, your mind take
control only you can help yourself.
Patience, the
other word our generation is deprived of. Our parents out of love have provided us with everything we need, without any efforts from our sides and kept us away from a quality of every hardworking human.
Patience and
Belief - just remember these two qualities on this journey of quitting guilty
pleasures and magic will happen.
I won’t promise you I guarantee
you,
been there, tried it!
And my final
answer to my Stoner friend is,
I will never stop writing, not just because it makes me happy, but because I see my future here and without any cost to pay.
But you should definitely stop weed because it keeps you away from your reality and the cost you pay is collected from your family.
